Unconscious biases are complex and often revealed in individuals and institutions in the most unexpected ways. This past fall, the University of Michigan Student Diversity Council (SDC) and Office for Health Equity and Inclusion (OHEI) partnered with Medical School Administration to tackle the lack of diversity and representation in the images displayed in the Taubman Health Sciences Library (THSL).

During OHEI’s Undergraduate Research Academy (URA) summer program, undergraduate learnershave the opportunity to pair with a faculty mentor and conduct research to gain footing in the scientific world. The Career Development Academy (CDA), another OHEI summer program, hosts rising junior and senior undergraduates and post-baccalaureate learners participate in MCATprep and do professional development and application workshops.
